The governorship candidate of the Reform and Advancement Party in Imo State, Kingdom Okere, has promised to probe the administration of the outgoing governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, should he be elected.
Okere, an activist lawyer, in a statement he issued on Friday in Owerri, said that he would ensure that Okorocha accounted for every kobo that entered into the state treasury since 2011.
The governorship candidate said, “I will ensure the recovery of every looted fund meant for the state and send the perpetrators to jail.
“As I launch my governorship campaign, top on my agenda is to recover every kobo stolen from Imo treasury since 2011.
“I will probe the diversion of Paris refunds, Imo bailout fund, and eight years mismanagement of Imo local government allocations, prosecute the looters and send them to prison.
“I will set up a commission of inquiry to examine illegal land transactions under Rochas Okorocha’s administration….
“I will set up a commission to examine the mismanagement of Imo LGA resources through the Transition Committee Chairmen.”
