This week, we take a drift away from norm and spotlight songs with the title 911 or themed with the number 911.

 

No. 4: 911 – Rick Ross

Off the Album “God Forgives, I don’t” and released in 2012. The song takes the number four spot on the #AOTW.

William Leonard Roberts II was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi (January 28, 1976) and raised in Carol City, Florida. In the mid-2000s, he changed his name to Rick Ross. He derived his stage name from the former drug kingpin “Freeway” Rick Ross, to whom he has no connection. Its official video was uploaded 11 years ago on youtube and currently has over 45 million views. The hiphop rap song was produced by young shun and serves as the 9th track off the album.

 

No. 3: 911 – Lady Gaga

911″ is a song by American singer Lady Gaga recorded for her sixth studio album, Chromatica (2020). It appears as the album’s eighth track, preceded by a string arrangement titled “Chromatica II”. It was written by Gaga along with Justin Tranter, BloodPop, and Madeon, with the latter two also producing along with Benjamin Rice.

Lady Gaga; born March 28, 1986 as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her image reinventions and musical versatility. Gaga began performing as a teenager, singing at open mic nights, and acting in school plays. She studied at Collaborative Arts Project 21, through New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, before dropping out to pursue a career in music.

The song was certified Gold in Italy after selling 35,000 copies. It also peaked at number one on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles for Billboard.

 

No. 2: Fire burning (911) – Sean Kingston

Kisean Paul Anderson(born February 3, 1990), better known by his stage name Sean Kingston, is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for his hit songs “Beautiful Girls”, “Fire Burning”, and “Eenie Meenie. Kingston attended Ocho Rios High School in Ocho Rios for three years before migrating back to the United States. His grandfather was the noted Jamaican reggae producer Lawrence Lindo, who worked under the stage name Jack Ruby.

Fire Burning(911)  is a song by Jamaican-American singer-songwriter Sean Kingston. It is released as the lead single from his second studio album Tomorrow. Unlike many of his previous singles, which are all produced by J.R. Rotem, the song is produced by RedOne. The song was used for the opening number of the Miss Universe 2009 live at the Atlantis Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.

 

No. 1: 911 – Wyclef Jean feat. Mary J. Blige

The song is a duet between rap singer Wyclef Jean and soul music singer Mary J. Blige. It was released on 5 September 2000 as the third single from Jean’s second studio album.

911″ was a hit for the two singers as it reached No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was very successful in Sweden and in Norway where it reached number-one for almost two months. It earned a Platinum disc in Norway. It was also a top ten hit in Ireland, UK, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Finland.

Nel Ust Wyclef Jean born October 17, 1969 is a Haitian rapper, musician and actor. At the age of nine, Jean immigrated to the United States with his family. He first achieved fame as a member of the New Jersey hip hop group the Fugees, alongside Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel. At nine years old he immigrated with his family to Brooklyn, New York, and ultimately settled in East Orange and Newark, New Jersey. Jean began to make music as a child, and as a teen, his mother, having recognized his musical talent, bought him a guitar.

911 by Wyclef was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal Performance by a duo or group in 2001.
